Essentialism - The art of pursuit less
I discovered this book on a family trip I did last summer to Dublin. When I visit cities I like walking around not only to visit monuments but also to explore libraries. Amazon is changing the landscape and it's getting unusual to find a book mall, that's why when I see one I like seeing what's inside! Therein Dublin center, close to the mythical and legendary Temple Bar, I found a great 4th-floor building and I discovered this book that I hold in my hands. Essentialism - a masterpiece from Greg McKeown.
This book was on my Amazon wishlist for a while, and that was the perfect moment to make the wish comes true! not only it'll be a nice souvenir but hopefully a useful one! definitely more useful than the Guinness magnets I got, although I must admit that I love my Guinness magnets as well! it brings me joy and beautiful memories!
Although this book has been with me for a few months it was during the Christmas when I have had time to read it. The book is a real eye-opener which challenges us to think about what’s important and how we’re spending our time. The book guides us through the process of saying “no” to the “trivial many” so we can focus more on the “essential few”.
My summary of the book in 3 tweets 😃 it's as follow
1.“If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will”
2.Essentialism is not about how to get more things done ; it’s about how to get the right things done
3.-“ I choose to , ” “ Only a few things really matter , ” and “ I can do anything but not everything
These 3 principles resonate with me, because what's your feeling when you share you calendar availability Outlook/Google and suddenly it's all occupied with meetings?
Or what about that feeling of being working in many different initiatives and do a progress of 1 millimetre in many direction instead of a huge progress in one direction. Actually I love the picture we get in the book to illustrate this mindset
If you find this concept interesting you can download the book summary I prepared.

Have a wonderful week and good luck everyone choosing our “vital fews”
