A 90-days diet ... but this time not for food, but for my career!
I'm still with my post-Christmas blog-posts! Christmas holidays are a great opportunity to have time to come up with many ideas to write about! And also, it is a great opportunity to spend time with family, to play with my PlayStation, to spend an afternoon playing board games (Risk) without having to look at the watch, and it is also a great opportunity to eat, to eat a loooot!
It's been 2 weeks that I was concentrating family meals, meals with friends, ex- company peer meals, and of course when it arrives on January 2nd-3rd, I already feel like the guy of Seven, the Brad Pitt movie who ate pasta until he exploded! ooops! ☺️
On top of that in Spain we are not happy just eating a loooot during the most relevant Christmas days, 24th, 25th or the 31st of December .... We say bye, bye Christmas with a delicious Roscon de Reyes!
This has always been a tradition in my house since I can remember, I usually buy one (or several) and we take it on the eve of the day of "Reyes Magos" (3-wise-men).
Of course, this year could not be less! So on January 5th, I went to a traditional pastry and bought the biggest Roscon they were selling. 1.2Kg of delicious sponge cake with its candied fruit, its cream, its orange blossom water, and of course its surprise! A delicious several thousand calories bomb.
So it is not surprising that after spending 2 weeks with food it is necessary to put some control on my diet, lose a few kilos and bring on track my relation with the scale, in short, it's time to go back to gym ... I started Googling to find new ideas, to get new exercise, new routines. I wanted to start the year on fire! truly motivated!; and while looking for results in Google about routines to improve my current shape, without knowing very well how…. I found a routine that did not propose a diet for the body, but ... a diet for our professional career. A diet for our professional career? 🤔Uuhhmm .... I found the article in Forbes and it got my attention immediately.
The article is titled "The 90-day career diet", it's written by Gary Burnison CEO of Korn Ferry and author of Lose the Resume, Land the Job.
And in that article, Gary says that, in our careers, we also need to honestly know "Where am I right now?". For a healthy body, we can check out our heart rate, our body mass index (BMI), cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. For careers, Korn Ferry has the Career Momentum Index (CMI).
Holly Cow! A Career Momentum Index, what a cool idea!!! 😍
I thought it was a very interesting proposal from the moment I read it; I stopped for a moment the search of the gym routine, and I started to read the details of this unconventional diet.
Welcome to my diet! But not my post-Christmas back to real life food diet ... the 90-day career diet !!!
I found the concept proposed by the KF Institute so interesting that I registered in its "diet" program.
What I like most about this model is that it forces me to think, to work, and to strive; In a certain way is like going to gym, but to the gym of the mind; I paid a fee also for this "gymnasium"; they have an online coaching service to guide me through the “diet” and I will explain you how it goes in future blog post!, I've never had a coach! So this idea seems interesting to me
Diets are boring, for now, this diet is fascinating, I will keep reporting how my progress is going!

What do you think about this concept of the Career Momentum Index? Do you have any other method to do a check about how your career is going? Where to direct it and how?
Have a wonderful week!
